Using Google Search Console

Internet is the easiest way to connect and share with people around the world about anything we create. The advent of smartphones and the availability of the internet to almost everyone, business people tend to merchandise the products via the internet. Though the conventional marketing strategies of advertising in televisions, newspapers, and banners are still intact, they are costly and do not attract much interest these days. Hence, small to large-scale businesses have opted to sell their goods by creating their own websites.

Present day, there are billions of websites out there on the internet. So how could you possibly make the potential buyers click on to your website and how would you measure the performance of your pages? The answer is Google Search Console.

Registering and adding your pages with the search console can make sure Google finds your website and shows it for the correct queries. Every time a new product page is added to the website search console displays errors that Google found when reading the site. Checking and fixing those errors can help the pages get displayed for relevant searches. Furthermore, the search console can be used to see which terms lead people to that particular Google search results pages. In addition, it provides detailed analysis on total clicks, total impressions, average CTR and average position, over a period of 16 months for any given pages.

It reports on the number of people clicking into the site and the keywords for which the site is getting impressions. However, abruptly adding all those keywords, which are gaining traffic, in the content does not help. It actually makes the reader find it unconvincing and bounce off the page. The keywords must be placed in the content with the flow and in the most appealing way. Thus, having content-rich pages would elevate the website’s position in the ranking through the masses. Click Through Rates (CTR) shows the percentage of a number of people who click into the link per listing of the website in the search results. In general, 5% of CTR means that the page is performing well.

These details aid in identifying the most successful pages and products in the store, hence focusing more on them to increase the traffic for the business. Besides, the search console regularly checks the site for errors and even sends an email alert if it finds any important issue. On top of all these, Google search console does not cost a penny to the user. Think how crazy it would be if you are not using such an amazing tool for free?
